On the Tuesday morning after our long weekend, I phoned the Old Man to supervise his medication. Then I reeled off a list of things that he needed to remember to do that day. Amongst other things:
check that he had switched off his electric blanket
eat an orange and a banana
phone cousin Z
“Anything else?” he asked dryly.
Perhaps reverse parenthood has turned me into an authoritarian.
