At about 06:10, Mrs JG’s father’s car is parked alongside the Old Man’s front side lawn.
The sun comes out, above the roof of Vinnie’s house and to the left of his chimney-stack, at about 08:40.
When I am about to drive off to AltGroce just after 09:00, Mr JG is returning to his house, on foot. He is carrying a newspaper, so presumably he has been to the corner shop.
There is a brief interval of sun, around 12:30.
I go to visit cousin Naomi at 13:50 or so. The sun has come out, after a period when the sky was overcast and the light was quite dull.
In his later years, the Old Man never knew when the clocks were going to change — I had to remind him. Now, I have to remind Naomi.
When I drive back from Naomi’s, the sun is low in the sky, and it keeps disappearing behind clouds and then coming out again. I keep taking my shades off, and putting them on.
Shortly after 19:00 it begins to spot with rain, and during the hour that follows the rain is intermittently heavy.
